The circuit of exhibitions in the city opens SCAN

The work of Pieter Hugo will be shown at Tinglado 2
Commissioned by Cristina Zelich, the Talent Latent exhibition will remain in Tarragona until 5 July, and during this period you will be able to enjoy guided visits to the show, organised by the Alumni of Art History of Tarragona’s University. In addition, on 8 May we can offer you a unique experience: the presentation of Talent Latent by the artists themselves, in an event which will be held at the Serveis Territorials at the Department of Culture and Communication. However Talent Latent is not the only photographic exhibition which will be hosted in the city during the SCAN festival. The unique and captivating perspective of Pieter Hugo will enchant you through his Selected Works in Tinglado 2. You can scent, at the University, the essence of Lisbon in his images of the suburb of Lavapiés, in the work of Jordi Blas. You can reflect at the Museum of Modern Art on the work of David Latorre, his take on the  ‘mise en scene’ in which we live, or visit the Forvm Foundation and see how Toni Amengual directs our gaze towards the vortex of the urban landscape and the anonymity of its inhabitants. You can also find Through your eyes, a different way of using photography as a tool to develop critical thinking amongst young people from the Ponent suburb of Tarragona. The Tarragona contribution appears in two collective exhibitions at the Espai Rosselló and at the  Espai Pep Escoda: Death is frowned upon and The cry, respectively.

To these exhibitions we can add that of Robert Vilaplana and his almost dreamscapes, Lena Rovira and Montse Bosquet, the young deserving winners of the Secretaria de Joventut prize;Jordi Bernadó and Carlos Ventós with ...like Dubai... at COAC; the sensuality of  Mariano Vargas at Galeria ArTGN and, finally, the exhibition Images 2008 at the La Caixa Foundation, a collection of the best published photographs from the press of the Tarragona region. You are invited to participate in the round of inaugurations of these excellent and thought provoking works. Consult the ‘Exhibitions’  section of the SCAN programme on our website for more information.
