Talent Latent 2008 comes to Girona

The director of Serveis Territorials de Cultura in Girona, Miquel Sitjar, and the director of Culture and Education at Girona City Council, Maria Lluïsa Faxedas, will open the Talent Latent 2008 exhibition which can be seen until 7 June, as part of the Contact. Samples of Contemporary Photography programme. At the inauguration, Rosa Pera, director of Bòlit Centre of Contemporary Art, and Marta Dahó, the exhibition´s commissioner, will be in attendance.

On 6 May at 12h at Niu, a press conference will take place in order to outline the premise of the show and the criteria behind the selection of the chosen artists.

The travelling exhibition is a collection of the work of fifteen artists at the beginning of their careers from eleven countries in Europe, America and Asia. They were chosen from more than one hundred projects, put forward by professionals worldwide.

Talent Latent was part of the  SCAN’08 photographic festival which was held in Tarragona from 14 to 20 April 2008. The travelling exhibition “Culture on Tour” is based on this exhibition, organised and adapted by the Direcció General de Cooperació Cultural.

The show has already visited Sabadell and El Prat de Llobregat. After its stay in Girona, Talent Latent 2008 will visit Olot, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Terrassa and Ripollet. Each of these venues will welcome some of the pieces which form Talent Latent. In the case of Girona, the work of Nico Baumgarten, Yann Gross, Fiona Hackett, Aleix Plademunt, Tehnnica Schweiz and Ali Taptik can be seen.
