Magda Stanová and Moira Ricci, Talent Latent 08, travel to Arles

Recontres d’Arles is not the first international occasion on which the photographers of Talent Latent 08 have been present.

The Encontros da Imagem in Braga contacted SCAN in order to show the work of Moira Ricci which will appear in Arles. Ali Taptik with his work Kaza ve Kader (also shown as part of the 2008 edition of Talent Latent) has been shown in Sete (France) as part of the Images Singulières  exhibition last May;  Zalgiris by Ugnius Gelguda was solicited by DA2 of Salamanca and Yann Gross took part in PhotoEspaña with Horizonville, becoming, furthermore, the image of this edition of the festival.  

Amongst the prizes won by Talent Latent 08, the Beca Fotopres’09 won by  Aleix Plademunt stands out, as does the award won by Donatella di Cicco at the Festival Documental de Bellaria (Brazil) with her new work, Molto Visibile Segretamente Nascosto. 

Regarding this year's Talents,the International Festival of Rome, under the banner “Declinazioni della gioia. L’atto di fotografare, visioni e rappresentazioni” at FotoGrafia, selected and showed the work of Jorge Yeregui, Alejandro Chaskielberg and Javier Marquerie, as well as the Talents 08 Aleix Plademunt and Bruno Arbesú. You can visit the show until 2 August at the palazzo delle Esposizioni.

Directly and indirectly, SCAN is contributing to the continuing presentations of these artists at the beginning of their careers, proving that the spirit of Talent Latent goes much further than its first steps in Tarragona. SCAN can also count on the Talent Archive, which aims for the diffusion of all those works received by photographers who were not eventually selected nor shown at SCAN
