Mariona originally trained as a librarian, and began her voyage into the art world when working at the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona. From there she went to the Alexandre Cirici Centre for Documenting Contemporary Art, at that time situated in Palau Moja.
In the same building, only 7 steps down, she began, on 1987, to work on the second phase of the Primavera Fotogràfica Festival. She remained as co-coordinator until 1996. Since then she has developed different exhibitions, phases and functions of the Santa Mònica Art Centre, until 2005, when she became a specialist in Visual Arts in the General Directorate of Cultural Cooperation. In 2007 she began the SCAN adventure.
She is also involved in work with the Berini Gallery, Artexpo, IDEP, the Art Barcelona Association and the Humberto Rivas Studio, amongst others.
